Exhibition Design Workshop for Interior Architecture Students: Identity
Between March 20th and 22nd, the "Exhibition Design Workshop for Interior Architecture Students: Identity" curate by stage and exhibition designer Valentine Koppenhöfer and assisted by Res. Asst. Hande Yıldız Çekindir was organized for 2nd, 3rd, and 4th-year students of the Department of Interior Architecture and Environmental Design. The workshop focused on exploring and manifesting identity within the context of exhibition design.
During the workshop, students were tasked with crafting a presentation concept that reflected their personal interpretation of identity. Working collaboratively, students constructed their own exhibits, each intertwined with their unique narrative of identity. Throughout the process, emphasis was placed on developing spatial communication strategies for various facets of identity, including history, gender, language, aesthetics, ecology, and society.
Moreover, in alignment with sustainability principles, students were challenged to utilize only recycled materials sourced from the campus. The culmination of the workshop saw the unconventional presentation of the created objects in an outdoor exhibition, offering a platform for dialogue and reflection.
Ultimately, the workshop aimed to equip interior architecture students with a comprehensive understanding of exhibition design processes while fostering valuable group experiences that prepared them for future professional endeavors.
